I'm torn. If NASCAR is a sport, then shouldn't the solar car competition be included in the college sports categories? Discuss.

Now, Root for Team ISU, "on pace to qualify" in first stage of the MOV (multiple occupant vehicle) of the American Solar Challenge.

From the ISU Prisum Page:

"The American Solar Challenge is a competition to design, build, and drive solar-powered cars in a cross-country time/distance rally event. Teams compete over a 1,500-2,000 mile course between multiple cities across the country. The event has had over two decades of organized events in North America.

The Formula Sun Grand Prix is a track event that is held on grand prix or road style closed courses. This unique style of competition truly test the limits of solar cars in handling curves, braking, and acceleration. Strategy applied during these three day events is different than what is applied on the cross-country event."

Is this bigger than previous years’ cars? Seems like a big cabin space.

Comparison with the previous model, Penumbra, explained here:

Do we need to infuse some NIL money to the program to get better engineering students?
From my knowledge of nerds, I’m guessing this team is something like 7 dudes and one woman. Need to go half and half, otherwise the nerds are too busy “fighting” over the one female and not much gets accomplished. Go 50/50 then the nerds can either relax since odds are better or the women can accomplish something as a group.

I think that's changing. While I haven't yet found a pic of Team Eliana, here's the 2022 Nimbus team from MIT. Lots-o-Ladies.
