NOPE final trailer

Well, that was interesting, especially with the tone change shifts in that. Usually not my sorta movie but now I am intrigued some. Maybe I need to check out some of the other Peele movies, not a horror/suspense genre guy so have not to date.

And also want to put a bunch of these in my yard to see how the neighbors react.

Big fan of Michael Wincott. Don’t know how much he will be in the movie but always appreciate his uniqueness in film.

To me, Peele movies are more suspense than horror but they are definitely dark. Total mindf**ks.

Never understood rush right out and buy tickets guy. I mean if you wait a couple weeks you get an empty theatre, can pick your spot. Find out if it’s an actual good movie. Never understood opening night guy. Always reminded me of first in line to get a new iPhone release guy
Ok? (Shrug)

Don’t really need to understand it. It’s for those who like it, not those who don’t. I’ll admit, some movies I get pumped for and will want to see it right out of the gate. Not a ton of them, but some. Just an anticipatory thing.

Yup. Especially Peele movies which typically have some theme you don’t want spoiled before seeing it.

I think the same thing but I don't say it. The people who go right away aren't clogging things up when I decide to go. Just like I don't tell people that tailgating after a game is just as good as tailgating before it. Let people rush out and deal with the traffic while we are having another tailgate meal and a cocktail. Then I can leave at my leisure.

Did I say that outloud?

I hate when people do things that I don't like to do.

Sometimes I want the "movie experience" of seeing it with a bunch of other people who are also hyped up. Like going to a concert or a sporting event. Endgame was that type of movie for me. Otherwise I'll just wait to watch it at home. Why pay $50 to not get the full "movie experience?"

I probably won't see it just because I don't like suspense/thriller/horror movies (just my preference). I will say that the movie title is awesome. Kudos to the person that came up with that movie title.

Going to this Thursday night. Embargo has lifted and short reviews are starting to come out. Overall extremely positive but some saying it's going to be divisive yet at the same time calling out how it's like classics like Jaws, Close Encounters, etc.

Ohhh this is gonna be a divisive movie I think. I liked it, quite a lot actually but need to process it a day or two. Like Get Out and Us it's something you've never seen before which I applaud regardless if I loved a movie of his or not. Definitely jump scares and it's great at building tension. I'm just really waiting to see what the public thinks of the final act.

I liked Get Out and Us but don't think they're horror movies in the general sense. This falls in that category too. I am inclined to put this behind Get Out but ahead of Us.

Thought it was amazing. Peele never misses. I’m curious about what you think is divisive about it, or what you mean by that, because I didn’t get that at all.

Many in our theater left pissed. It’s not a horror movie in the general sense but I don’t think any of his films are. He’s a brilliant director.

Had friend go last night and they hated it thinking it was gonna be something totally different and thought the antagonist was ‘so stupid’.

I guess I put that fully on the shoulders of the viewer. Like, if that’s your expectation going into a Jordan Peele movie, then you haven’t even done the least bit of research going into the movie.

As for the movie itself, I thought it had a great mixture of suspense, comedy and a little “what the **** is going on?” which Peele is phenomenal at balancing. I thought the actress that played the sister was amazing. And even though his role wasn’t massive, I liked Steven Yeun in it as well. I’d agree with your assessment and put this just below Get Out and just above Us. And that’s no disservice to Us, I just thought it fell apart a little in the second half, where this one stayed solid throughout the film.
