I'm heading down to Gravois Mills next week and will probably do some fishing. will probably focus on bass but I'm pretty opportunistic when it comes to fish.

Anyone have any advice for fishing there this time of year? (Other than eat at Blue Cat Inn, Lickety Splitz, etc.). When I bass fish in Iowa it is mostly with plastics with a few jigs and crankbaits thrown in. We will b on the far North end on the Gravois arm.

I'd alos take local craft beer recommendations in cast the fishing is slow.

I've never fished the Ozarks but judging from the Google Maps picture of the boat ramp there that area probably sees extreme fishing pressure.

The area you are in is very shallow. There are some good bass coves back that way. Near Coconuts. However if you come a little further out into the Gravois Arm and hit those coves. The water is deeper and you can fish the shorelines by the docks. Everyone is pretty good about not giving a crap about that. I live in a cove right outside the Arm that has some good bass coves. I have seen a lot of huge fish that have a flat nose. I can't think of the name of them. They look like a Northern Pike but have a flat nose. Those are all down in the Arm near the start of the arm where I think you are describing. Summer is a good time to fish down there because it's deep. Strange enough, spring actually sucks to fish down there. Also you are right next to coconuts. Hundreds of chicks in bikinis if you get bored fishing.
