Signing up for Patreon different than premium on cyclone fanatic?

Don’t totally understand your question but I hope you get it answered before the thread turns into a massive pissing match.

I’m the opposite, on patreon. It shows updates from CW and others about recruiting and portal insights. Not sure if premium also shows that. I don’t want to pay for both.

We get recruiting updates and “insider” information. Some things we have heard about almost a month before they hit the regular board, but only being one of them, neither of us can say if our stuff is the same. Have to find someone who has both and find the difference.

I had Patreon then upgraded during the Campbell/Notre Dame stuff. Patreon is a donation imo but upgrade gets info. I don’t remember a difference but I think both might prevent ads.

This is a really great thread. With all of the NIL $ and donation discussions that are out there right now organizations in the business of college athletics are going to need to start thinking differently about staying fresh and creating awareness around their revenue models.
Similar to the Amazon Smile post, CF has previously communicated the steps that people can take to support them with Premium, Patreon or both but for anyone who is new or didn't pay that close attention when it was first announced, it doesn't feel like there is much to drive consumer behavior/engagement or to show the differences when people are engaged.

If I am just simply missing this I'd love for someone to point me in the right direction but I'm sure there are just as many who don't know as who do.

I recently signed up for Premium but I'm confused too. The landing pages aren't very clear about the difference. Maybe Chris or someone on his team can enlighten us?

I think the goal was to serve two different types of CF people. Some only come to read articles and don't care for any of the message boards. That's what the Patreon subscription is for.

Others are here mainly for message boards and that's what Premium is for.

My understanding is that the information from CW is the same for both groups, just a different delivery mechanism.

I think Premium gets the ad free experience, but I don't think Patreon does. Not 100% on that.

That is my understanding as well. Patreon people get the insider articles and access to the town hall interview stuff but not the message boards. I'm not Patreon, just premium so I'm not totally sure, but that is how I understand it.

One thing since joining premium I have noticed is that the staff, Chris, Blum, Stanz are way more open to engaging with us on the boards when we ask questions in various premium threads on the message board. That is the value to me. Others may be different.

I signed up for Patreon before there was the Premium option. I just wanted to support the site. Then the premium thing was launched and I never bothered to try to switch over. I don't think I get anything extra. And no, I don't just read the articles.

I had Patreon and then I found out from a premium subscriber that some information was being shared on the premium board that the Patreon subscribers were not getting. That was kind of annoying since they are marketed as identical information, just with a slightly cheaper option for people who don't like message boards. The formal posts are the same but some of the insider posts on the premium board don't make their way to Patreon.

You taking about @brentblum posts about a certain ex football coordinator? You might almost say it's a blessing you didn't get some of that content in your inbox...
