If this is 1999 Breece is assured of a top 5 pick in the First Round. Alas, it is 2022 and RBs are devalued.

I know most here are biased, but with his workout AND his tape I cannot see where his is not the RB with the best chance to go in the first round. To me it is not even close.

If you were guaranteed that he would go in the first round, which team would you put your money on? I see a few teams that are a stud RB away from being the best version of themself in 2022.

How would that change if you wanted Breece to play for your favorite NFL team?

My money would be on Miami. He would fit the new staff’s scheme and they are 29 I believe.

I'd love to see him with the Chiefs offense and they will be picking near the end of the first round but they have more glaring needs than RB. I don't think he gets taken in the 1st round if current NFL trends hold

It's all a crapshoot.... just like the draft always is. He is a first round talent for sure, but it's all about fit and whether or not teams want to spend the money on a RB in the first round or not?

If RB's were considered really valuable in the game of football today..... he could go top 10.... but they just aren't.

It’s a wild contrast. He’s possibly the most valuable player in ISU history and I think pretty common for a running back to be that for many or most programs in any decade of college fb.

Is it how plentiful good RBs are or how supplemental the running game is to passing? Or is it injury chances?

It's wild how trends change and recycle themselves in the NFL. Tailback was once the premier position in the league when I was a kid, and TE was about as important as fullback. Now it's kind of the opposite.

You are right that part of it is that a replacement level running back does most things well enough in these modern offenses that teams won't invest in them long term when they have other needs. Who is the longest term starting running back in the NFL currently? Mark Ingram is in his 11th season, there's a couple starters in their 7th year, but the oldest impact runners are probably Ezekiel Elliot and Derrick Henry in their 6th year and still at the top of their positions and on their second deal with their teams. I read on NFL.com that going into last year there were 24 teams with tailbacks on their first contract or option year. That's the business, but like Elliot or Henry, an exceptional back will be valued.

The Bills would be a great situation for Breece. They have a pick near the bottom of round 1.
I would be very surprised if the Bills don't go DT or CB in round 1. They have a serviceable back with Singletary, so really aren't desperate for an early RB.

He’s got a real good chance end of rd 1, but likely it’s round 2. Either way he’s deserving and can’t wait to see him in the nfl

They’ve moneyballed the position. Teams know that they need RB’s that don’t cost a lot but have some NFL experience to create the best mix to make the playoffs. That way they have more money to pay positions that “pay back more”. Also, its a passing league now and I don’t see that changing much anytime soon.

I just hope he lands in a good situation with a scheme built for success. So many careers ruined landing on the Jets, Lions etc.

Do some of you hate Breece? I would never wish or predict one of our players going to the Cowboys. What an awful organization.
I honestly hope it’s the bills or ravens and I’m a fan of neither but perfect places for him to win. Run heavy Baltimore with dobbins splitting or competing for a super bowl for years to come in Buffalo

I mean this as no slight to him, I'd never draft a running back high ever again. I think he's a great player and I would have no problem if somebody wants to draft him high, but as a fan of this league I would not want my team (the Chiefs) drafting a RB higher than the 3rd basically ever.
