The NFL lists Breece's 40 time at the combine as 4.39. Why do people keep posting that it is a 4.4? What is the reasoning behind skipping events at the combine? For instance, Enyi, Rose, Kolar, and Allen did not run the 40.

4.44 was the unofficial time that gets displayed almost instantly on the broadcast (on Twitter and other places people would often list it as 4.44u). Every run is given an official time after its reviewed which takes a little time, his official time was 4.39.

Only an educated guess: The trainers the athletes hire must think that training for certain tests must counteract each other. With pro day still available to these guys they can basically split up what they want and train for the remaining tests then.

Breece skipped Bench Press because he wanted to be at his best for the 40. I’m sure the agents poke around and find out what concerns teams, then go out and focus on that metric.
I think after this weekend Breece goes 2nd round. As he should. I hope it is to a solid team, I think of Javonte Williams with the Broncos this year - he could have that type of impact.

Right, but the latest articles and posts list 4.44. That is a good time, however sub 4.4 is unreal. Half a second in a 40 time is huge. Just thought it was odd. Mr. 4.39 Breece Hall!

Most seem to be skipping the bench press now in general. I think it’s not worth it for most players.

NFL draft moron here, but 2nd round because not a lot of 1st round running back needs this year or 2nd round because other running backs higher?

Again NFL draft moron...but it seems to me his game breaker play ability proven more than any other running back in past 3 seasons of college football could be a home run for somebody. That on top of how fundamentally sound and well rounded he is. Like imagine of Montgomery had his big play ability.

Teams increasingly don’t see the importance of spending money on the RB position. Right or wrong, that’s the belief.

And if you draft them high, you have to pay them.

I mean as a college fan Walker is the only one I know of that seems like he'd be remotely as good when upgraded to stronger/faster defenses. Even then, he has a smaller sample size of dominating the college game and seems riskier to me.

I follow the NBA draft and I know it's not always simple in that league. Figured it was something like what you're saying. At least with NFL these guys are all American players we've seen except for the handful of guys from FCS or really minor FBS conferences.

Most experts feel he is the best running back in the draft. In the current NFL, teams do not view running backs as a priority in the draft. His combine metrics were really good, so some feel he could sneak into a low first round pick. It depends how big of an impact they think he might make and if they view him as a lot better than other backs in the draft.

Hmm...I know we want that 1st round pick thing broken, but being first RB taken would be amazing.

I was shocked that Kene got drafted so early but it looks like Minnesota already scored with him even if he never played again.

Jonathan Taylor for the Colts had a huge year. Some teams may see that and rate Hall’s value higher than in the past. Time will tell.
