OT: Best new mystery/suspense/thriller/horror books?

Reading like crazy in this era of COVID-19. Needing some good suggestions for mystery/suspense/thriller/horror books. I'm not needing Stephen King/Dean Koontz suggestions...I read all of theirs when they are released.

Thoughts?

If anyone is looking for some books (not just of the thriller/horror genre)...

• No Exit by Taylor Adams is a great little page-turner/suspense book. Rights have been snatched up for a movie already. I'd give it an A-.
• The Fourth Monkey by J.D. Barker is first book of a serial killer trilogy. Read it in just a couple of days. I'd give it a B+...will read rest of the trilogy.
• Nomadland by Jessica Bruder is a must read especially in the times we are in. Movie will star Frances McDormand and David Strathairn. Easily give this an A.
• Hillbilly Elegy by J.D. Vance...ooph. Another must non-fiction book that's a must read for right now. Amy Adams and Glenn Close will be in movie directed by Ron Howard. Give it an A.
• Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann is another non-fiction that is brutally hard to read. Tells the story of the Osage Indian Murders in the early 20th century which basically birthed the FBI. Scorcese snatched up the rights and is directing DiCaprio and DeNiro. A+ but it's a hard read.

Have you read the Dan Brown books? Too obvious? sorry if so. I am reading the Jack Reacher books in order....about half way through. kind of fun to predict the ending when you are half way through.....surprising more of these have not made it to Hollywood production yet. They read like a screenplay from crystaline conventional cineplex fare.

John Connolly has a great thriller/mystery series that involves some supernatural goings on. The protagonist is a private detective named Charlie Parker.
