Watch the tape. The low rating is probably due to him being unpolished. He's athletic, a good pass catcher and good football IQ. He needs to work on cleaning up his game. That is what college coaching is for.

For those who can't watch video easily (work computer, etc), would OP consider posting a brief overview for these guys? [ie: 3 start tight end from Johnston, IA, etc] - (I know I can google it myself, just would be awesome to be in the OP)

He doesn’t seem to fit the mold of what this staff seems to look for in a DE. At least, from what I’ve seen. And they have some intriguing candidates out there.
I’d only I don’t think he has great speed for a tight end, but it certainly appears certainly good enough. He has good hands and balance, is a tough runner, and he runs through tackles.
I’m not sure how he’d compare to any of our current ends, I think he runs more like a bull in a China shop. Not a tank like Dylan Soehner, maybe...Mike Busch? He just seems happy to trample people.
I think the Iowa staff is meeting today (virtually, of course) to discuss whether to offer him, so that is very possible.
If Fidone picks Neb and other TE are taken, uh oh.
Any chance Landon Morris would play TE?
Ok here is my take as a fellow former teammate and classmate of Tyler’s. We are both C/O ‘21.
1. He has worked incredibly hard the last two seasons. This was his first year of varsity and he played well. He has gained over 30 lbs over the last 6+ months and has increased his agility and vert a bunch. I remember him not being able to dunk a basketball sophomore year.
2. Watch out for Iowa. As much as I would love to keep him, Iowa is huge here. He grew up a Iowa fan and I believe his parents both went their as well. Similar to a Miyan Williams situation here.
