REPORT: ISU to host DePaul in 2020 Big East/Big 12 Battle

Hopefully they aren't near as good as they were last year early on. Otherwise, ouch.

Man what happened to them? The beat Iowa, BC, Minnesota, TT, then go 3-15 in the BE including an absolute curb stomping 93-55 to end the year. What a bizarro team.

Full slate:
  • Baylor at Seton Hall
  • Butler at Kansas State
  • Creighton at Kansas
  • DePaul at Iowa State
  • Marquette at Oklahoma State
  • Providence at TCU
  • St. John’s at Texas Tech
  • Villanova at Texas
  • West Virginia at Georgetown
  • Xavier at Oklahoma
Not so long ago, ISU would've gotten matched with someone like Creighton, Marquette or Xavier.

Two straight home games in the alliance, so odds are '22 and '23 will be road games. Hopefully against someone better than DePaul (i.e., hope we're deserving of an opponent better than that, by that time).

Wonder if that likely means we'll be lucky enough to play an SEC team on the road for a third straight year.

Recruiting wise much rather have a roady in Chicago.

For recruitment purposes, we need road games in Chicago and Milwaukee. Maybe we pull @ Marquette next year. They used to be our farm club.

Their dismantling of Iowa at Carver Morgue made me think that Iowa sucked as bad as usual this year, when in fact, they sucked less and we sucked more. Still, I enjoyed the dismantling immensely.

I almost forgot ISU has been road team the past two seasons. I doubt we'll get slapped with it a 3rd straight time (I don't think any Big 12 team has had that occur to this point). My guess is it'll be a home game vs. either Vandy or Missouri (which has made only 4 appearances in the series)
