Iron Cancer usually got them that one looks pretty nice. Simple to work on. That would be a nice truck to have.
There’s one sitting in the climate controlled barn at my grandmas house. We’ve got it going a few times and every time the steering column ends up crapping out.
Now you’re going over my head. Would you have to remove the steering column to fix the power steering pump? I just hang out and drink beer while my dad and uncles do all the work. So I only pick up random sentences that are tossed out like “this steering column is a piece of ****”, you can’t drive this on the highway with the steering column in this shape dumb ****”, etc
what mid 70s-early 80s truck wasn't?? lol these were farm/work vehicles still mostly.

Does anyone have expertise with the late 80's Ram Truck? If so, what were the +/-'s of the truck?
Know a guy who has, or did, 3-4 of these and are diesels. See several on the road. My dad had an 89 I believe. Tranny dumped but otherwise it was a solid truck.
Looking for a solid work truck for the day-to-day tasks on our "hobby" farm.
This truck looks from the late 80s, maybe early 90s. By then, Fords and Chevys (Toyotas, Nissans, too) were light years ahead of the Dodge trucks. Yes, they were all pretty simple in the mid 70s, but this design went from being introduced in 1972 to 1993 with only minor changes. They were pretty much junk by mid 80s to early 90s standards.
Thought of a couple other things.
Find out what the magic combination is to get it to start on a cold day. We had an old truck on the farm you had to pump the gas 3 times before turning the key. Different one you had to hold the gas pedal a 1/3 down and another you just floored it. Every truck from that era is different.

That is what you noticed? I notice sunshine and newly forming foliage on the trees. Spring, Baby. Can’t wait.
To the OP...I like the look of the truck, but I don’t know **** about this kind of thing.
Find out what the truck's name is. Trucks of that era like to be called by their first name.
Biggest bonus to this is it looks like you are just talking to you truck instead of yourself when you are saying your starting ritual prayer or cussing at it when it breaks down.
Speaking of breaking down, you will need to find a good parts store.
When you talk to the parts guy behind the counter, you don't ask for parts. You say you are looking for some "MoPar Magic."
If he doesn't know what you are talking about then go talk to a different parts guy.
