All summer, Channel 13 has been following the story of Ashlyn Clark, the high school softball player from Humbolt who has been battling cancer. Last night, the RVTV guys were in Humbolt and Keith Murphy was interviewing Ashlyn (who was proudly wearing a Cyclone t-shirt), and she mentioned her uncle is former Hawkeye TE Dallas Clark. That rung a bell with me that Dallas' brother, Derrik played linebacker for ISU back in the mid-90s. One of my college roommates was good friends with Derrik. Turns out Derrik is Ashlyn's dad. I found that interesting.
If I recall correctly, the whole family was always big Cyclone fans, but D-Mac did something to piss off Derrik (can't remember if he benched him his senior year, or something like that), and that event basically caused Dallas to pick Iowa over ISU. My facts may not be 100% correct, so feel free to correct me.
