MONDAY MUSING: Best Big 12 O/U bets for the 2019 season

I haven't heard many details on how everything is going to get started and how it will work. What details are known?
Nothing really new. They are just voting to make it the official tomorrow that it starts on 8/15. Anyone that wants to do it will have to go into a casino that is doing sports betting and get verified and start an account. At that point you can download an app and bet from it. You do need to be within state limits to use the app though. I see a lot of people from Omaha/ Lincoln coming to council bluffs to place bets on their phone and other people that live close to the Iowa boarder doing the same.

I agree that the QB at TCU will make the difference in 1-2 games that could swing their season. I was never impressed with Dalton when he was at KSU. If he wins the job, I'd take the under

I hope you're very wrong about Texas

"Aug. 15 at noon. That’s when gamblers in Iowa can place their first legal wager on professional and college sports events or fantasy sports contests. That is if all goes well Tuesday when the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission is slated to approve rules for sports wagering and approve license applications made by 18 of Iowa’s 19 state-regulated casinos. Rules and regulations that were the subject of a July 11 public hearing had a few minor modifications or technical corrections, Ohorilko said Friday, but overall are ready for consideration when the five-member state convenes in West Des Moines this week. If approved on an emergency basis, the framework will be in place by about July 30 and casinos will be able to enter into partnerships with advanced deposit sports wagering operators that also must be licensed by the state to conduct sports wagering on Aug. 15. Casinos have been negotiating with third-party companies to help them conduct sports betting and planning renovations to make space for their sportsbook operations."

Sounds like if things go according to plan tomorrow, we could start heading to casinos as soon as this week (assuming they've got agreements already in place with the third-party sportsbook companies) to get verified/registered and download the third-party's app and be ready to start placing legal bets on 8/15 at noon.

I personally think TCU may have a hard time winning at Purdue. Purdue has Rondale Moore back. That guy may be the most explosive player in the country. I'm sure Jeff Brohm will have a bunch of new ways to get him the ball in space. Other than Moore, I'm not sure what they have, but Brohm seems to be a very good coach and appears to be building something like CMC.

I get Texas is recruiting and coaching better. They return the least amount of starts in the league though. (ISU returns the most)

I have TCU penciled in as an L at Purdue -- totally hinging on being a road game. Right now I see TCU 7-5, which would be Under.

I don't disagree with any of your points on TCU. And Purdue will absolutely be tough. My $$ on Patterson bounce back really and nothing more.

It wouldn't surprise me if TCU goes over, even if I'm leaning on 7-5 ... I also have a "toe-stubbing" road loss at KSU, which probably is less likely than L at Purdue -- so 8-4 doesn't seem out of line.

My preliminary game-by-game with each team schedules, for teams CW listed, I have:
TCU: Under
Oklahoma State: Over
Oklahoma: Under (losses to UCLA and Texas)
Texas: Under (losses to LSU, TCU and Iowa State)
West Virginia: Under

--> It’s probably good I don’t bet real-life money on such things.

Kansas at under 3 seems tempting. I gotta imagine they can beat Indiana State and Coastal carolina, but i dont see them taking Boston College or any big 12 games.

I agree. They do have tech kstate and Baylor at home later in the year though. I could see if one of those teams had some injuries, they could have one of those “holy sh*t Kansas actually won today” kind of games.

A fool and his money are soon parted
Haha. I have been doing it for 15 years already. It is a part time job that pays well. If you know what you are doing and pay attention to trends and other factors people will do just fine.
