COLUMN: On JaQuan Bailey, the sack record and the maturation of a young person

I've always loved his spirit on the field. Even though the Texas celebration was dumb, it was done in a playful manner. One of my favorite moments the last couple years was after Spears' interception to seal the game against TCU, JaQuan is flopping on the ground. He's always had fun, but sounds like he's working just as hard now.

One of the best DEs in cyclone history. Does he have a shot in the NFL?

From Athlon Sports (Top 20 Big 12 draft prospects for 2020):

JaQuan Bailey, DL, Iowa State (Sr., 6-2, 251)
Bailey proved to be one of the more disruptive players in the Big 12 this season coming off the edge. He notched 14.5 tackles for a loss in 2018, ranking eighth overall in the conference. Given how hard the ISU defense usually plays, count on Bailey keeping his foot on the gas this season and finishing with a strong senior campaign.

EDIT: Greg Eisworth and Ray Lima were also listed among the top 20.

As a Minnesota Vikings fan, a lot of the stuff I see on the field from Jaquan are similar in style and effort to Everson Griffen. Even his personality he plays with. (not saying they are the same off the field)

By no means am I saying he is at that level yet (or even will get there) but just his body type, style of play, and effort are similar. If his work ethic truly is the highest on our team that, in my opinion, is a huge plus for his chances to stick in the league.

5:30 mark.

One of my favorite moments maybe in Cyclone athletics, ever.
