Davenport drownings

same thoughts here since i heard about it yesterday on IPR. also a strange coincidence of the same, but unrelated, last name.
Perhaps a situation where one person was struggling, and the other person attempted to save them but got in trouble themselves due to the panic of the first?
Not really since they had the same last name.
I find it weirder that neither of them owned the pool they were swimming in. These two guys were house sitting while the owner was out of town.
Lake,ocean,river maybe. Seems unlikely in a pool.
Very odd circumstances. The Register article I read said that they had been at a function with a third friend and they left to check on the house. The third friend went to check on them later and found the bodies. So maybe it's something as simple as an accidental drowning after they drank too much at whatever party or event they had been at.
It's hard to believe that two adults who were both competent swimmers and spent a lot of time around water would drown for no reason.

Doesn't necessarily mean they are competent swimmers but you would think so.
Yeah, it doesn't outright say that they were but it's a pretty reasonable inference to make.
how often do electrical shocks happen in american swimming pools? i've never worried about it before but this is the second time in a week i've heard about it.
