The pitch clock in baseball thing is interesting.
Was the 'speed the game up!' thing a problem 20 years ago?
Football games are roughly 3 hours long, and so is baseball.
Time between pitches last I knew is roughly 18 seconds, I think in football it's something like 25 seconds, and in baseball the ball is more often in play, technically.
So, 18 seconds being too long... reminds me of this bit from Dane Cook back when he was kind of funny.

I plugged in CRDNLAU but it was already taken according to the DMV. Wanted my choice to be available for the taking. The consonants in cardinal are kinda important, haha.

Regarding the 153 game schedule, I think it's a
great idea and I'd go even further by starting 10 days later and ending the season 10 days earlier.
Canadian Luau? Doesn't sound like that much fun about 9 months out of the year.
I'm a little ashamed this crossed my mind a couple times trying to figure out what it meant
I don’t mind the LENGTH of the baseball SEASON. Taking away games doesn’t do anything for me. Making each game shorter is what matters.
I dig your lead for the article. Putting that into my queue for possible inclusion in "CF Quotes of the Month." 
MLB postseason seems to move along briskly, at least relative to NBA and NHL. Probably all 3 could benefit from shorter regular season, then again I'm not a major follower of the pro leagues anymore. Maybe I'd feel different if I were a huge fan and wanted to see as much as possible.
