I was recently encouraged to use a loofah in the shower to prevent unnecessary excess use of shower gel in there. I hope I am not in the minority in thinking that: because I do not have lady parts, I, therefore, am not qualified to use such a device in the shower. Pour shower gel in hand, apply to head, pits and other places, rinse and dry. It is not difficult. Thank you.

What “lady parts” does a loofah work well for?

I just use soap. Because I’m a man. Now granted, that soap is $10 a bar from anthropologie but it’s still just a bar of soap. I don’t have that much body mass so I can easy get to everywhere I need to get to.

You don't use a washcloth?

I'd be afraid of what gets left in the loofah. Pretty soon it would end up as big wad of hair.

I grew up using washcloths and never thought any different of it. Switched to a loofah a couple years ago, and it's so much better. It takes less than half the body wash to create the same amount of suds. Then just rinse it off at the end of the shower, and you're good to go. The other trade off is changing out a loofah every couple months versus washing your washcloths in a batch after every wash.
