PODCAST: Jay/CW break down the Big 12

Thanks for doing this CW! I could listen to you and Jay talk football for hours. Love it!

In fact I requested you ask Jay about our offense this season about a week ago, and boom you've already done it. Now that's service!

I found your analysis of the Big 12 really interesting and agree with pretty much all of it. My ears really perked up though when Jay mentioned how much he likes Norvell and what his offense looks like in Memphis. And then I think he mentioned Utah State's offense too, and Princeton as well.

I felt like he was saying that these are 3 places that run an offense similar to ours, but do it quite a bit better. That really had me intrigued because I feel like our offense, especially last season, was just dreadful to watch for the most part. But then people say, "but we made it to the Alamo Bowl, can't you just be happy?". I was thrilled with the Alamo Bowl and had a great time there, but just think what could have been if we didn't have the 95th best offense out of 129 teams.

That's why I'm SO looking forward to your next podcast this coming week with Jay. I know you've already recorded it, but I hope you guys get into Jay analyzing what we SHOULD be doing offensively that we're not. I just feel like we have the talent to be so much better if we just change up our scheme a little. Running up the gut and throwing bombs like last year is not the solution, or very creative or diverse at all either.

Anyway, thanks for these Jay Jordan segments.... they are great!

And no, it didn’t slip by me when you both quietly agreed that Croney, Lang and Nwangwu are just placeholders for when Hall and Brock are ready.

The way that CMC talked about Kene’s Spring is my only possible quibble with that statement.

Athlon gave our RB's a #9 ranking in the Big 12, but I thought that was mostly due to lack of familiarity. I think we are going to have a much more explosive outside the tackles running game this year. How long has it been since we had someone go around the end and outrace everyone for a long touchdown? Hoping for several this year.
