I’ve been wanting to get to a playoff game, but my schedule won’t let me. As an MN Wild fan, I would like to see Donato and Greenway

Heard they sold 3000 tickets in the last 24 hours. Who's going?

GF and I went Wednesday and we invited another couple to come with us tonight. Even ordered a (MN) Wild hat from Amazon during the game on Wednesday and got it this afternoon. We had seats in the defensive end so the last ten minutes of Wednesday's game after the Wolves closed to within 1 was super exciting. Feels like it could explode tonight. It was getting chippy out there!

Pretty schweet hat if I do say so myself.

not to hijack the thread but the game atmosphere is so much better at the Des Moines Buccaneers then any Wild/Stars/Chops game I've ever been to. The Bucs made the playoffs again for the first time in about 10 years this season. was hopping they made it passed the second round as then they would have been playing either Cedar Rapids or Dubuque so would have been able to make the road games for the series.

The quality of hockey isn’t even close though. High school kids vs professionals, many of which have seen time in the NHL. Don’t get me wrong I attend a ton of USHL games but given the opportunity to watch an AHL playoff game vs a USHL playoff game and I’m attending the professional game every time.

I'd say its more Triple A vs College, there has been quite a few past USHL players that make the jump straight to an NHL roster, while at the same time not every AHL player will eventually make an NHL roster, since it's still technically their development league. but as I said its more about the overall game time atmosphere. I've been to both plenty of times and there are moments in Wells during Wild games where you can hear a pen drop across the arena. the climate is to corporate compared to the Mad House on Hickman which is what makes the Bucs fun. Wells Fargo just isn't a good sporting environment in general really. It's the same with the Barnstormers in Vets vs Wells.

Right I get the environment, small intimate old barn that’s relatively full (and always has $1-$2 beers) vs a huge arena with fans scattered and not right on top of the action. Personally I’d still rather watch AHL because the level of play is much better.

Not to start an argument, but there are almost no USHL players that make the jump straight to the NHL, ever (many have eventually made the NHL, but not jumped directly). It’s primarily a pre-collegiate developmental league. Most every player in the USHL has already signed or is working to earn a D1 scholarship and has potential to reach the NHL from there.

Canadian juniors is a different story.

I haven’t been to a bucs game in years but I thought this game had a great crowd. Mind you it’s the playoffs but I couldnt complain. Even though they got blown out people were still pretty involved up until the end. It seemed way better from back when they were the Chops and Stars.

Great environment last night. Lower level was nearly full.

The Wild kept the puck on their end most of the night, but Chicago made it count when they had it on their end. Chicago got up early and maintained the lead for a 7-4 win.

Now, we need to take 2 in Chicago to get any more games at home.

Glad for the success they are having but never been a hockey guy and nothing has changed in that department.

Give it another try. Go to a game in person, it’s a far better live sport than television.

The Stanley cups playoffs are a close 2nd to the ncaa tournament for me as far as must watch sports television whether my team is in it or not.
