Anyone have any recommendations on roof company in Des Moines? Going to start getting bids on my house and wanted to see if anyone had some recommendations on who they have had success with and who to stay away from?

100% go with Jeff Bos. He did my roof in Clive. Excellent price and a quality roof. He is the owner and supervisor and will be on sight with his crew. He has a huge crew and will boom truck your shingles to the roof. They also leave the place clean when complete. Jeff Bos is the man and he has been in the business for a long time.
RoofSmart Iowa. Owner was onsite during the job. Did our roof and then our neighbors had him come out a few weeks later.

I got a quote from them. Good people but bid was 4K over another company for same product.
Good timing - with the wind and (small) hail we've gotten, I'm considering seeing if insurance will cover anything.
Last week a salesman for Quick Roofing stopped at my house claiming he could for sure get me a new roof covered by insurance. He seemed like an OK guy, but definitely a salesman.

I had my roof replaced by Apple Roofing last fall. They did a good job and left my yard very clean.

Sonntag Roofing is very good and great price. Also, if you would like some smaller contractors I have a list of them worth considering that aren't larger operations. I'm a new construction builder with Spec homes and some custom if you would like to get a little better price for he same quality. Just depends on your level of comfort with those.
I just had insurance send out an adjuster. Minimal issues with mine. Just some issues with gutters. Estimate was less than my $1,100 deductible.
If you are missing shingles, you are golden. I'm not missing shingles, so the adjuster said to wait a few years and see what kind of storms we get. Mine will need replaced no matter what in about 5 years.
I don't know if they are the cheapest but I really like the owner. When he gave me the estimate he was honest and said we would probably be fine for a couple more years.

We just got our roof and gutters with gutter toppers. Got estimates from Titan, Bakeris, Quick and Roofsmart. Quick was least expensive followed closely by Roofsmart then Bakeris and Titan. I wanted to use Titan but at $6k more than Roofsmart I just couldn't do it. Bakeris was $4k more than Roofsmart. Roofsmart did a good job and looks good.
I second this recommendation, had RoofSmart do our roof last summer. They did a great job and Dave the owner was easy to work with.
I've had great luck working with Josh Hargrin and Hargrin Construction. Honest, affordable, and quality work. He replaced the roofing under my flat-roof and set it up nicely for us to place a deck on top of it. Sub-contracted to build the railing. No complaints at all! (515) 556-8777
