Hes for sure talented, but I think were good in the lower weights and probably already have a good chunk of $ tied up in them.

Yeah, I have heard he had trouble making weight all year and had some discipline issues (which happens with true freshman) - Manning probably shouldn't have pulled his redshirt.
Not saying we would want him - honestly doesn't sound like a kid we are trying to bring in here.

Renteria has a lot of growing up to do. He's been coddled. I bet he ends up at UNC with Tony Ramos where that will continue.
May be quick judgement, but with his strange recruitment, he looks like a probable head ache for coaches. Let someone else buy the aspirin.
Renteria would be a nice pick up. My guess is the JUCO transfer Small will eventually go 141.
He would have to gain quite a bit of mass for that. He's more of a natural 125.
You’re thinking of Mejia who went Iowa, Illinois, Iowa, Illinois, and now he is training back home at Valley RTC (Fresno States RTC).
Renteria committed to Iowa then Switched to Nebraska after Lee committed

Renteria is a good kid who originally committed to Iowa but backed out because the $$$ situation might not have been there with both Lee and Teasdale. At that point, Ramos was already at UNC and Renteria could have went there instead but chose Nebby. He didn't have "discipline" issues such as acting up or getting in trouble. More about diet discipline than anything. He can still make 133 (at least next year) and was told by a reliable resource he is only weighing 146 at full feed. Knowing those diet issues, Manning still took him out of redshirt and he had a pretty good year but you all know what happened at Nattys. I think most freshman struggle with something and his was proper diet/cutting and it hit at the worse time. I would love to have him at Iowa.
