I'm just wondering if there will be any surprises, good or bad. With 3 days to get this done, will this go on for more that today?

I like the idea of the early signing period even more for teams like Iowa State. You can tie down most of your class before Christmas and then concentrate on a few openings going to the traditional late signing date. I would think there will be less poaching, but that will be interesting to watch over the next 6 weeks or so.

I believe so. Especially since 3GenClone's post above list him as a redshirt sophomore.
]There's a reason the blue bloods hate the early signing period. Poaching is still going to occur but probably not like it had been. For schools like Iowa State, I don't think it's possible to overstate how valuable the early signing period is.

I think its fantastic. Bigger schools can't come in and just poach these guys out of a verbal commitment now.
Plus it lets you know where you stand with the players that have given you verbals. If they sign, you shift your focus to your next priorities. If they don't sign it gives the coaching staff the opportunity to step back and either continue to recruit that player or shift to plan B. If this year is any indicator, this staff wants to have the majority of the class signed in December so they can really get after next years class.
