Re: Need help finding cyclones in g7 who lost phone(pic of them) Thank you thank you thank you! This is my wife's phone!! Not sure how you got the picture out of there, but that confirms it. We called it several times but could not get an answer, so we shut it down. However, getting it...

    Tailgating in Austin

I heard from my UT friend that people often "caution tape" off their spot for the big games but usually for the games that don't matter (ISU vs. UT) UT partygoers don't get there too early. Your description of Centennial Park sounds like the opposite of fun. What you're telling me is that...

    Tailgating in Austin

A group of about 8 of us got a tip that Centennial Park at 15th & Trinity allows tailgating similar to what we might find in Ames. We're gonna try that early Saturday morning.

    Water in basement

The question is now how do you smooth over your disclosure statement when you want to sell. I had water in my basement in 2008 and now I'm afraid that when I actually get a bite on my house (fingers crossed), someone will see I had water in my basement and get scared. Any advice from...

Get new HDTV or fix current HDTV??

Many good thoughts everyone!! Just the sort of feedback I wanted to get. I would have no problem going out and getting a replacement TV (50" plasma) or fixing my current TV, however, I plan to be moving within the next year and am afraid to move it to said location. I've heard that you've...

Get new HDTV or fix current HDTV??

I have a Samsung HP-T5054 50" Plasma TV that I bought in '07 and have enjoyed ever since. In '07, the TV was pretty expensive and carries some emotional baggage because of its initial price (even though now I can get the same TV for 1/3rd the price I paid). To make a long story short, I...

    Where to be on NYE???

Sounds like 3bag and Court Ave are my only two choices...I find that hard to believe, but 3bag sounds like a winner.

    Where to be on NYE???

Have I missed something, or has nobody that is sticking around DM for NYE been talking about where they are watching the game and bringing in the new year? Can't say that I've heard of a good* place to go for the game, or ball-drop, or both. * = not having to sell a kidney to get in, not...

Venues for a wedding/reception in the DM-Ames area

I once went to a reception that was on the roof of the State of Iowa Historical Building. I'm not sure how many people it accommodates but 300 would be about max. Great view of the capital plus the ICubs had fireworks that night. Parking ramp nearby, hotels nearby...just about perfect...

    Tickets for Texas A&M game?

I've been told that ISU hasn't gotten their allotment of ISU section tickets from A&M yet. However, you can buy tickets to the game right now, but won't find out where you are sitting until closer to game day. So if you call the ISU ticket office, they should be able to hook you up. My group...

For those going to the T A&M game

You'd think you could figure out exactly where you are sitting instantly when you buy the tickets. Guess they shuffle you around based on highest contribution ranking until 2 weeks prior to the game.

Could someone that knows please explain what "The Dixie Chicken" is, and why I've been told I should avoid that place at all cost while in College Station??

    Any Ragbrai Tips?

As bad as it sounds....I suggest a fanny pack. While at the state fair, you'll look ridiculous, on RAGBRAI you'll fit in. Also, I bring giant zip lock bags to help me distinguish the clothes I retire for the week vs the ones that still have life. Smaller ziplock bags also help you keep stuff...
