    Right on! Stroud's has the best yard bird around! Great place to go when in town for the B-12 tournament next year. Don't forget though, the old Stroud's off of Holmes in closed and gone. Only Oak Manor location is left (I think).

    Man this news sucks... Steve Alford for EIU coach for life! Can you imagine how bad his recruiting at EIU will be if, for some reason, he doesn't get the NM job? I also heard that Manchester is asking permission to hire him again, no wait, that was La'James International College.

    This is true. Coach K was the leading candidate right out of the shoot when Lynn Nance was let go. Not sure how or why, he didn't take the job as it was offered to him. However, Lou's fall back of Johnny Orr wasn't too bad and yes, the initial call was actually made to inquire about Frieder.

    Apples and Oranges. In eight seasons Wacker had only two winning seasons and was two games under .500 for his TCU career. Wacker was an offensive coach and not a defensive coach like Patterson. Patterson is twice the coach Wacker was.

    Here is what I am hearing...

    He's 4-0 against the Big Twelve the last two years. His teams play smash mouth defense. His offenses are fast and are balanced. He has established recruiting roots in Texas. He would be a perfect hire.

    Coaching possibilities - Sporting News

    The word that I am getting from a large booster is that JP is looking for a coach with Texas ties. Think recruiting! Given this, I would hope that JP takes a hard look at Gary Patterson from TCU. Defensive minded, with fast offensive players!
