    Just looking at the last 3 years is hardly fair.. two of those year were the program reemerging from the darkest years of Hawkeye basketball in modern history. You are deluding yourself if you think McCaffery won't get Iowa back to the Big Dance. Heck, Alford got Iowa to 3 NCAA tournament...

    Not sure what you are finding so funny... the tradition part is true. The future is yet to be determined... ISU is down to Iowa, 22 to 14 in NCAA tournament appearances, that's a lot of ground to make up.

    Why even go there? Iowa State has many more tournament appearances to go to reach the level of the more tradition rich Iowa Hawkeyes... With the resurgence of Hawkeye basketball, ISU may never catch up.

    All of those missed 3's didn't necesarily equate to empty possessions for the Badgers. They did have 17 offensive rebounds. For the game, they attempted 10 more FGs than Iowa did.
