    New Orleans

Yep. Don't be stupid. One of my coworkers and her two male friends got mugged (one of the guys got lightly pistol whipped) because as dumb, drunk interns, they willingly got into some guys car who offered to give them a ride for cash. I mean, that's basically asking to get robbed.

    New Orleans

I lived in New Orleans (Okay, Harahan/Elmwood to be specific), for 5 years ('08-'13). Wasn't much of a party person (I think I went out on Bourbon Street only a couple times) but general thoughts/reccomednations: 1. With regards to crime: NOLA is as safe or dangerous as you choose to make it...

    F1 2024 Discussion

I think Red Bull and Verstappen should have their car setup determined by a random number generator for each race this year. See how good they really are. Or maybe just let Ferrari do their strategy.

    Washington DC Family Vaca

Couple of things that stand out for me from the two trips I took to DC (one when I was in 8th grade, and the other was maybe my junior year of HS, and I'm pushing 40 for context). Both were relatively short trips (like 2-3 days and .5-0.75 days) 1. The Korean War and FDR memorials were cool at...

    Random Power Tool Help

McMaster McMaster Carr has something that might work as well. It's cheap, but you'll probably pay more shipping. I'd be willing to bet there is something at Menards that'll work. I've also had really good luck with Ace Hardware having off fasteners and one off parts as opposed to the bigger...

    ISU @ Houston/Big Monday

That is one thing I don't miss about being on the east coast. 9 PM tips were brutal when you get up at 5:00 AM.

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

The mental part always takes the longest in almost any trade/profession and can only be gained through live experience. In terms of gross motor skills I don't think Brock has much he can really gain (he's not going to gain 50 lbs of muscle, get 4" taller, shave .3 off his 40 time, etc). I think...

    Downtown Royals Stadium

That's actually a good point. My KC geography isn't great. Yeah. Everyone wants to go see the new shiny thing. When it comes down to it, winning has more of an affect than anything on attendance.

    Downtown Royals Stadium

The location makes pretty good sense to me (as an outsider). You might lose some of the fans from the suburbs who don't want to deal with finding parking/traffic/going downtown on weekdays, but they'll probably make up for some of it with increased traffic from other downtown events. I could...

    JTS Improvements - Want More

I agree. It kind of says "how can we make this obviously new **** seem old and dignified?"

    Beardshear (who knew?)

That was my thought. That first photo makes me think if he had any problems with the faculty or staff he'd just invite them outside for an adjustment of their opinions.

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

The 49ers definitely had some moments that helped them lose. The CMC fumble, the entire penalty sequence on Trent Williams in the 1st q where they ended up like 1st and 35, the muffed/bounced punt, the DB tearing his ACL walking onto the field, etc. Brock didn't have an amazing game, but had a...

    ***Official 2024 Weather Thread***

Yeah, Some of the rainfall totals I've seen down there are impressive no matter where you are. 6"+ of rain in the lowlands in 2-3 days is a lot. Throw in the fact that most of the LA area should be a desert and it's easy to see how bad it can get quickly.

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

I'd say almost none. Most of the "experts" don't like the fact that they flat out missed on him. They can't stand that Mr. Irrelevant, who doesn't have stand out physical traits, is a pretty "normal" guy, is proving almost all the scouts and evaluators wrong. Edit: He doesn't have the one...

    49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

Kittle already does it to an extent. He's got a 20 minute segment on the Pat McAffee show yesterday where he throws lots of jabs about it.
