    Canine Laryngeal Paralysis

Our 12 year old lab has been given a preliminary diagnosis of canine laryngeal paralysis. Other than this, she's in great shape. It looks like the treatment options are heavy doses of drugs or surgery. We're going to talk to our vet some more about the options, but I'm wondering if anyone has...

    Chicago Trip

Assuming the weather cooperates, I'd take one of the architecture tours. Lots of different options (boat, bus, foot, etc.), its a good way to see lots of the city. Chicago Architecture Foundation - Tours

    Docking Station Advice

I'm in the market for a laptop docking station, but rapidly became overwhelmed by the multitude of choices. What should I be looking for in a docking station? Are they brand specific, or will all laptops fit into them? This is for a Lenovo Thinkpad, which is a work computer, so it will change...

My wife and I saw him last night at the show in Chicago. It was awesome - you guys are going to have a great time.

    Student Discounts on Software

Does anybody know if ISU provides commercial software at a discount for students? If so, where would info about that be found? Mostly interested in the MS Office suite, but if there's more available, that would be good to know. My nephew, currently enrolled, tells his mother that normally...

    Best ISU NCAA Tournament game

Wasn't there a blarge called in the final four either last year, or the year before? I didn't see it, but friends who have heard me rant about this felt compelled to point it out.

    Chicago Tournament next year?

Thanksgiving weekend, at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates. The Sears Centre is about 30 miles northwest of downtown Chicago, with no public transportation to speak of that gets anywhere close. Easy access to the tollway, though, that being I-90.

    Chicago Tournament Next Year

Be aware that the Sears Centre is in Chicago much like Hilton Coliseum is in Des Moines. There's some hotels and restaurants out that way, and it's growing up fast, but it's by no stretch of the imagination part of Chicago. That being said, I live about ten minutes from the Sears Centre, so...

Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Park

We're planning a trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks next summer, specifically July. Never having been, this seems like a perfect topic for discussion among Cyclone Fanatics. We're a party of six - my wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and myself...

    Looking for a Dog

100% agree with this - the last two dogs we got (black lab, some kind of lab mix) came from a lab rescue organzation.

Anyone work for the Federal Goverment?

Let's not forget the vacation accrual that federal employees receive. Not many jobs out there that provide four weeks of vacation after three years of employment. I still miss that deal.

    Rebate Checks/Deposits

Having been down this road, two quotes always helped me along. "Why is divorce so expensive? Because it's worth it." "The price of freedom is high."

    Real Hollywood War Hero

"Flyboys: A True Story of Courage", written by the same author as "Flags of our Fathers" goes into a lot more detail. Be forewarned, it's pretty graphic.
