    At-large / Wild card question

These two NCAA documents both say you need at least two criteria to receive an at-large consideration: https://ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/championships/sports/wrestling/d1/men/D1MWR_SelectionsProcess.pdf...

    At-large / Wild card question

I was looking through wild card possibilities for the ISU guys and I was wondering if it is possible that some weights might have less guys qualify for a wild card than slots available. For example, at 197 the Big Ten gets 6 allocations. If everything goes to chalk, these 4 guys would need a...

    2/14 Coaches Panel Rankings

If this is true then Jacobe should get an allocation since he is 8-0 in DI matches at 174. I think the Big 12 would get 5 spots for sure and very likely 6 spots (Smith, Lujan, Bastian, Coleman, Hastings, and De La Riva).

    10,000 Fans for Mizzou Dual

Marcus is definitely struggling on bottom right now, but it might be a little early to give up on the freshman. He has given up bonus to the #1,#2,#5, and #15 ranked kids. He also leads the team in takedowns and major decisions as a freshman. Hopefully, some of the younger guys will get some...

    Oklahoma

They had a very similar match at UWW Juniors in the summer. Mantanona was dominating and was ahead 10-2 and Coleman came back to win 23-13.

    Oklahoma

I rewatched it. Mantanona did hit his head on the mat, but he is well known for gassing hard and taking "lung" time outs. This year he has had matches of Won 18-14, Loss 11-10, Loss 13-11, Won 14-13, Loss 14-13. They have the same pattern, he scores a lot of points and then crashes, stalls...

    First Coaches panel rankings

I did a rough estimate of ISU's DI winning percentage and ranked them in their weight class. These might not be exact, but they should be fairly close. ISU had a lot more non-DI matches than most schools. It looks like a 70% winning percentage is what to aim for to be top 25. Weight (Winning...

    Duhawk Open

Gomez, Leisure, and Coleman bonused their way to titles. Coleman pinned a decent kid in the finals from Northwestern (#8 at 170 by Flo last year). St. John got 2nd and Diblasi was third. Diblasi lost to the #4 ranked kid in NJCAA in the semifinals.

The Duhawk Open in Dubuque is this Saturday. I doubt there is a lot of competition, but I think Austin is planning on going.

According to track wrestling, Iowa State is sending 16 guys to the Flanagan Open at Loras college on Saturday, January 6th. It is good seeing all the guys in the room getting matches this year.
