Come on guys. The majority of students are at best "passive" fans for their school. Any school. There is no requirement you give a ***** about your school's football team. There is no right or wrong -- it's football and it's insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Being a hawkeye... -

While I may not be a fan of the same team as yours, I whole-heartedly agree that those not donning the symbols and colors of their university -- and worse yet, displaying those of the opposition(!) -- ought to be worried about their physical safety! School pride, first! -

On defense that's almost been the case over the years. (look at the numbers on defense) Not so on offense. Last year we fell off the edge a bit defensively due to massive graduation. (as well as attrition at the DL spot that left us with less than spectacular replacements) Again this season... -

You're a more known quantity at this point. So I can see some confidence from that... but depending on what team emerges from Iowa, hard to say you've got all the matchup advantages. -

Why would Iowa be expected to have a "worse" defense this year? Return the core of our back seven -- many achieving upperclassmen status now -- and against return marginal experience on the DL. The back seven will very likely be better -- especially so compared to what you guys saw from us last... -

It starts with the o-line and d-line
Na. Iowa almost always has a really solid DL and about half our guys start as 220-240lb LB types. You have to start getting guys like Karl Klug. Or Mike Daniels. Guys that have a great motor... few years in the program, few years in the weight room and you have something. -

Does Paul Rhoads underemphasize the Iowa game?
Maybe Iowa being a BCS game winning team last season and quite possibly being even better this season has something to do with it? These are probably a couple of the better teams Iowa has had in a while... and you guys are still in building mode. Why all the teeth gnashing? -

Watched some of your game... Hard to get a good feel for exactly how good the defense is as I'm not sure NIU has much offense at this point... especially passing. That said, you guys do have a decent offense. OL seems solid. A Rob is a good RB. Arnaud can do some good things but needs to cut... -
