    So how good is the Big 12 in Basketball this year?

    Big 12 had a good tourney last year but did not get a team in the Final 4. Need to get a team or two in this year to maintain our standing as clearly the toughest conference. A national champion would be nice.

    The irony for me is that Keshon Gilbert reminds me a ton of Kendall Gill. Same size and body type and very similar game. I thought that right away and even more so as Keshon has elevated his game.

    This. Both teams are so good defensively that when you work to get open looks you have to make. We’re at Houston this time but I think Gilbert and Jones are playing better and more consistently than the first game, and I think Lipsey is due for a break out game.

    Spot on. The last 4 years of Prohm created all kinds of record anomalies, including at Hilton. He had a 9-9 Big 12 season in 2019 and the rest was garbage.

    This is the wildest post I think I’ve ever seen on cyfan. And I mean only respect. Holy hell man, glad to see that you survived all that enough to watch today’s game then post.     Bracketology 2024

    I don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but Jess Settles said during today’s game that Iowa State can play its way to a 1 seed. Which is true. How awesome would that be. Would likely mean we won the regular season title and possibly the conference tourney as well.

    Is this “Stats” guy a thing in SF media? He seems like a guy running a podcast out of his parent’s basement with friends and family as followers. Like half the media in Vegas for the Super Bowl.

    The KState kids do the thing where they alternate moving backing and forth. It’s pretty cool and has become their signature thing. So I have no issues with the juicy wiggle thing.

    I don’t begrudge Hunter taking the money. He has zero chance of playing in the NBA and maybe not much of a career in Europe. This might be the most money he’ll ever make playing basketball. And the Clones have a far better player in Lipsey.

    Coach K gushes about TJ and ISU in interview

    This. Coach K started slow at Duke and was on the ropes after 2-3 years. There's a good ESPN show about it. No telling how he would have done at ISU. Plus, I would not want to have missed Johnny Freaking Orr at Iowa State. He’s integral to our culture. One of a kind.

    Fran knows the Big 12 and brings a great feel for the players, coaches and history of the conference. Whereas Bilas is a drive by. Plus Fran brings so much personality to each telecast. My 10 year old son and I sat next to him and his ESPN crew at a restaurant in the P&L after a game in KC...
