    Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

Isn't this the guy who is atrocious at 'insider news'?

    John Deere strike imminent?

Was that after 2014? They changed the salary pension substantially in 2014.

    John Deere strike imminent?

How did this thread get so sidetracked on talking about pensions, 401k, and social security. There is only 1 true reason why companies are moving AWAY from pensions and going towards 401k matches. It's all about the balance sheet. A pension is booked as a liability and stays on the balance sheet...

    John Deere strike imminent?

Ah. Makes sense. At Des Moines works there are 3 large weld departments that are above 85% manual welding.

    John Deere strike imminent?

Not totally true. There IS lots of robotic welding going on, but there are whole weld departments that are 100% manual welding.

    Merged Covid Megathread

That is great that it could be stored at a cold storage or whatever, but how would that work to actually deliver the vaccine to people? Medical staff is already stretched thin to be pulled out of medical clinics to do vaccine drives at a random cold storage place.

    Merged Covid Megathread

One interesting wrinkle to the Pfizer covid vaccine is that is has to be stored at -94 F. There aren't any doctors offices that can do this and a lot of hospitals don't even have a freezer that goes this low. From what I have gathered, only like research hospitals and maybe the VA would be able...

How many have ever been contacted for a poll?

I've done about 5 live phone polls this cycle. One of them seemed to be a right leaning poll based on the questions. Asked about favorable opinions on Cindy Axne voting record about certain things and had 'scary' terms for some of them, ie. leftist agenda. Just did one last week asking about...

So I had a vasectomy yesterday

Had mine done over a year ago at the iowa clinic. The only painful part of the procedure was when they injected the numbing medicine into the tubes. Like very brief searing pain. Had pretty bad discomfort for a couple weeks and one side swelled up pretty good. A year later and there is still...

    Truck Bed Liners

I just put a bedrug in my new truck. It's pretty sweet. Feels like a carpet and is easy on the knees if you are in the bed.

    I-35 / US 30 Flyover Progress

I think I heard that part of Irvinedale can't go wider because of the terrain there or something. Dont know if that is the actual truth or not, but what I had heard from someone.

    I-35 / US 30 Flyover Progress

Just drove on 35/80 yesterday and saw they are already installing the beams for the hwy 141 flyover. Seems like that one might be done before the 35/30 one. Hahaha.

    Back-up options for sump pump

What test do you need to do in ankeny or they'll threaten to shut your water off? I've owned my house for nearly 8 years and haven't done any test or anything.

    2018 Taxes

Filed over a month ago and still says pending on the department of revenue site. Really ridiculous when it takes over 5 weeks for Iowa to process returns and it took the federal government under a week to proceed my return.
