*** Official #6 IOWA STATE vs #2 Houston Game(Day) Thread ***

We got, what, two calls? Come on, man. They continually allowed Houston to get away with more and more all night. The entire first half was in favor of Houston.

And in the second half at the 8 minute mark Houston had what 8 fouls, ISU had.............2.

The guys had their chances, just wasn't in the cards tonight. Wasn't because of the officials.

Free throws and turnovers is the difference tonight. Houston 24-32, ISU 10-15. Turnovers was 16 to 9. We settled down but had runs were we turned it over and allowed Houston to build the lead.
With competent reffing Houston would’ve likely shot 10 less free throws

This board is just exhausting when it comes to officiating. It’s every loss. You aren’t going to get a favorable whistle on the road. That’s reality. And this was an impossible game to officiating.

It’s just a loser mentality. We needed to be that much better and we weren’t.

I didn’t think the refs screwed us in Va tech, A&M, byu, Baylor or OU losses.

They truly sucked balls tonight and in a couple of our wins that shouldn’t have been as close. They couldn’t call a legit game tonight. Houston is good and they have b12 poty.

I agree it’s a tough game to officiate. There were a couple of really difficult calls in the first half but at the end of the day you were within striking distance against a #1 seed on their home floor. You can tell the tremendous amount of respect the players have for each other. They know that we are a near equal. Would love to see them again in Kansas City for the title.

That was just one hell of a basketball game. No finesse crap out there. If you were on the court you were bringing it. Let’s run this one back in the National Championship…

ISU learned that Houston is a tough place to win. Like Houston realized earlier this season Hilton is also a tough place to win. I do like ISU's chances against Houston if they play in Kansas City.

Well, they were in the Final Four a couple of years ago. Guessing the adults weren't the ones doing the stupid chants.

My point was exactly that. This is a top 10 program that made a Final Four very recently. We got overrated, goodbye, and go start the bus chants. It was amusing if anything. And kind of weird.

I understand, but this was incredibly bad. Officials have to be consistent. They can have a crappy look on all the calls, but they have to call it both ways and tonight, it was not even close. Don't tell me that we are exhausting, those officials were exhausting.

We needed to be 16 point better than the other team tonight and we weren't, good call.
Disagree - I think Houston was the better team tonight. We looked good though. That’s an impressive loss…if there can be such a thing.

We took 17 fewer free throws. That is absolutely a factor. Not an excuse.

In all honesty, we just had a Saturday-Monday turn around against the #2 team in the country and #1 defense and gave them about everything they could handle.

We’re very deserving of our #6 ranking. We’re a couple of breaks away from winning that game.
