IHSAA State Wrestling 2024

I'm not sure how tall he is, maybe 5'9. Ross towered over him last year, but that isn't surprising.
Not tall and it's not hard to take a look at him and imagine he's a guy who could wrestle down a weight class or two after some time in a good conditioning/nutrion program. Danarii seems like a pretty talented kid who could do well in the right situation.

I'm not dogging on him at all because he was a phenomenal wrestler and did some great things. One of the best we've ever had to not win a natty. But a core memory of mine as a kid was watching Dwight Hinson get dq'd on stall calls because he wouldn't get up from the side of the mat when they went out of bounds. And Douglas behind him just staring in disbelief. Everytime I see him outside of Jack Trice directing traffic, my mind immediately goes to that.

Didn't realize Osage had that many 1 seeds in 2A.

#2 seed Oldenkamp from Lake Mills just got upset at 106 in 1A.

Don Bosco just got gifted a match at 190. Should have been 2 for NP at the end of the second. Ended up being the difference.

West Hancock with a nice tournament so far in IA.

2A team race should be interesting.

Hoping to watch more 3A tomorrow.

I will say this, Herrera is a BEAST.

Just a different animal for that weight class in 3A.
For as big as he is, he is extremely athletic. His shots are impressive. I am extremely excited to see what he will look like after a year with Durbin and training with Yonger. Just hope the football coaches dont try and poach him

WH is mostly a pair of brothers and one of their cousins. The brothers dad has spent a lot of time and really developed them.
