Big game @ Penn State tonight, winner can move into a tie for 6th place in the Big 10.
Big Ten has 3 decent teams and then a couple that are going to find their way in beating on teams that are slightly less terrible than themselves.
Fran is a survivor (certainly not a thriver). They'll eek out the next 3 by shooting like 93% from the FT line. Then they'll catch a couple of Q1 teams tired and disinterested (because they're playing Iowa). Suddenly they'll be squarely on the bubble. That's really all he needs for Iowa fans to say "See what more can we ask for?! We have a shot at the tourney in a rebuilding year. Are people forgetting about the Licklighter years?!"

Well, with a NIT home game they can showcase Carver Magic on the National Stage.
Yeah, they will beat Sconnie or Illinoize at home, beat some of the tomato cans, end up like 9-11 in conference. The record certainly won't scream "fireable offense".
Agree best case scenario for everyone but Iowa fans.

Iowa would damn near need to win out to get into the tournament. They aren’t even in the conversation right now as a bubble team.
Wiscy is on a downward spiral losing 3 in a row, two of which were to Nebby and Michigan. They were way overrated!
EIU is not making the tournament unless they can win the B10 tournament or go on a massive run right now. They have repeatedly shown they cannot win on the road in conference, and even if they do they are still waiting for their first Quad 1 win of the season currently 0-6. They need a miracle to make the tournament.
