Big 12 did not formally grade officials until this year apparently.

Passing along an article I seen about the Drew ejection- a memo sent out that was obtained by CBS Sports. Memo emphasizes bench decorum and coaching out of the box. Later on in the article it talks about the Big 12 not formally grade officials.

Frankly, the system has worked. The Big 12 has the best officiating in college basketball and it's not particularly close. Curtis Shaw is really good at his job.

Interesting article. Especially when Shaw mentioned unsportsmanlike contact by Head and Assistant Coaches by their sideline movements and actions. I hadn't seen this previously discussed by the media, but in watching games it seemed like certain coaches sideline movements were designed to impact the game. AKA coach moving up the sideline on the weakside, causing cross court passes to a ghost team mate.

About time they enforce the coaches staying in their box. Jamie Dixon would have been ejected from every game so far this year. Hopefully they gave the coaches fair warning about it though.

Pretty big spin there. Tell the officials who lost assignments after ****** games that they weren't "formally graded."

There were spots reserved at Hilton for officials' observers/evaluators well into the 2010s, if memory serves.
