Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

Indiana may be the most poorly coached team in the entire country. Huge NIL budget netted them a first round pick and a top 10 recruit and they won't even come close to making the tournament. Woodson is cooked.
It's ridiculous. That hire was absolutely awful. They need to stop big name shopping and get an up and coming young guy from a mid-major or even poach a young coach from somewhere else in P5-P6.

Iowa is pretty much an NIT lock under the new rules. The top 2 teams based on NET rankings from each power conference get NIT bids regardless of win-loss record. So Iowa (#60) would have to get passed up by Ohio State (#73) and Maryland (#81). Or Nebraska (#58) and/or Northwestern (#59) would have to finish with a higher NET than Iowa but not make the tourney.

And they'll probably get destroyed by whatever mid to low major got pushed down the list by the new system lol

Way better positioned than Nubs FB. Plenty of talent around Indiana and B1G money available. Just need to hire the right coach.

They had Kelvin Sampson and were rocking, until they got caught cheating. Since then its been one bad hire after another. They're just a good hire away from owning the B1G again.

Illinois has all that in both sports and rarely does anything. DePaul in big east is an insane underachiever since their 70s/80s run. Illinois should be a blue blood in college hoops by now if they could even get the third best kid in their state every year.

Throw the bag at Scott Drew again to see if he bites (probably not).

More realistically Dusty May is an Indiana graduate and from 40 minutes outside of Bloomington.

I won't be shocked if the B1G gets 8ish teams in because of 'prestige' but don't ask me which ones or how.

Pretty soon here the Any Katz's of the world are going to start spouting off their annual nonsense and somehow will woo the committee. Then the B1G teams are mostly done by the first weekend, and they pull out the 'beat up on one another' to justify it.

Rinse and repeat.
Yup and other P6 leagues like ACC and Pac 12 aren't doing well at all. Gotta fill the bracket somehow but I wish they'd give more at large to a league like the MVC

Drake ruined their chances for an at-large bid after losing at Missouri St. If the other ISU finishes strong and Drake wins the tournament, maybe they sneak two in this year. Assuming it’s ISU vs Drake in the championship.

On Louisville:

Musselman wants out of Arkansas bad (because the shelf life on his schtick in 5 year max) and he just feels like a natural for that program since it looks like Ben Johnson might get another year at Minnesota.. Ole Miss has cash, Beard can build a program there if he stays.

I was watching part of the game with couple buddies who are Iowa fans and they were pretty high on Harding. I just don't get it. A 5' 11", unathletic PG who can't shoot. What am I missing here?

I would also agree on Dembele. He is one of many Fran recruits that will be here a few years, never develop and transfer out.

Iowa fans are excited for two reasons.,

1.) Leistekow
2.) All of their games have been on the BTN propaganda machine.

Meh Iowa still has a lot of L's on the schedule.

I just don't get the Hok obsession with Harding, Dix, and Freeman.

Harding - too small, can't score (or even do anything against better competition).
Dix - too unathletic for this level.
Freeman - no strength or defense.
