*** Official Kansas State vs #23 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

We really played well in the last 2 min of the game. I know the foul against Milan when he fell down was a crap call, but there were more than enough of those to go around. Tang didn't keep his composure at all, and the T got the crowd riled up and it amped up the atmosphere and it didn't end well for KSU. Life on the road in the big12 at a ranked opponent.

His team was just pushing guys around and pushing off and pretending to be shocked when it got called. They played like morons for a few minutes and were lucky we missed FTs those minutes.

Well, C Jones was 5-5, Hasan 4-4, lipsey 4-5, Gilbert 6-7, and Milan 6-8. Really just BRE with a bad night from the line.

Outside of Bre (2-8) and Omaha (0-2 with neither being remotely close) we were 25-29 from the line, which is excellent. It did feel like a lot of those misses were front ends of a 1 and 1. But I'm too lazy to check.

That's bush league, if it's true. I hope they find the fans that did it. Be loud but not ***holes.

I’d find it hard for that to be true. There are literally security people standing behind the bench. If objects were thrown, he would have gone to that security person and get the fans removed. He went to TJ because of something else.

And if fans are throwing stuff, bring your team onto the court and tell the ref to hold the game while it is resolved. Don’t just stay on the bench.

The thing that bothered me the most was on King's foul the ref was overly emphatic on the call. I think he even gave the single twice. And on the replay, you can see her had way to much emotion on the call.

I know I sound like a broken record but the NBA has just begun to completely figure out a ton of these problems, so it's frustrating to watch ISU twice a week and this garbage still happens.

Both of the horrible final minute calls (when Milan fell and when they took a basket away to foul out King for nothing) would have been likely reversed on a challenge. The 3-shot ft in first half when KSU player kicked out his legs to create the contact NEVER happens anymore and if it rarely does happen it automatically gets overturned. I mean the players and coaches know they CANNOT do that anymore.

Tang: "That there fella in the Case IH cap threw something at our bench and you better do something about it."
TJ: "Get in the weight room and work on those lats and traps and maybe you can throw almost as much shade as I can with my shadow, brah"

Loved the late game rotation after Tre fouled out. Crazy thing is we have so many rotations/combos yet to be discovered because we have some many f guys that continue to get better. Trajectory heading toward 2000. Love it!

Overall, the reffing was poor tonight, but I am not sure it favored one team over another. Tang was pissed at the clock situation at the end of the half, even though they refs told him that is not reviewable in the first half. The refs missed one late in the game after ISU scored the kid of KSU was on the endline when he inbounded the ball and should have been called. But they were missing stuff all night long.

One thing I noticed that when Big Rob is shooting free throws, when he leans back is missing every time, but he stays more straight up or leans forward he has decent form and makes them.

Good win, move on to Kansas.

I think TJ likes the bigs to seal off the opponent and have guards clean up the boards. So that isn’t unusual for his teams.

I could buy into it if that was happening but it's not. Often our bigs are positioned to get rebounds but fail to body, grab the ball, or completely mistime their jumps. King is the master of the last one and loses several boards because of it.

I do think TJ preaches to our guards to Hound the ball. For their size our guards are excellent rebounders. Seven rebounds from your front line is awful and unsinkable. We need more from those guys.
