Time for a Real Discussion About Caitlin Clark

Let's look at this from a different lens...

1. If CC was at ISU I could see Bill Fennely going ape **** over the collision.
2. CC is the greatest athlete (male of female) this state has ever produced, that was a serious exaggeration of contact.
3. If the movie is getting out the same time another is starting, that does not give the people exiting the right to run people over.
4. The contact should not have happened, other kids should not have been there, but they were. Now if you leave at a sprint or run, the faster you leave the more likely something like this would happen. The rest of the team was several taking their time getting off the court. They did not have a problem?
5. When your at the top like CC and Iowa now, this has to be discussed. You're #2 in the nation playing on the road the court storm on a loss is inevitable. Plan for this?

You can disregard all of the above, I hope to all thing great in life that she goes pro after this year. The circus that surrounds her is exhausting. I think my inlaws are going to invire her to Christmas next year

CC is the greatest athlete this state has ever produced!? JFC.

[Insert biggest possible face palm emoji ever created]

WMT radio sports spent a good bit of time on the CC blindsiding this morning, weirdly referring to her twice as "the Hawkeye's national player of the year candidate and national player of the year Caitlin Clark," in their report. Also leaving an ominous implication at the end that Clark has "recently hired security for when she travels" as a non sequitur...

Funny little cult.

I do not think CC ran into her on purpose at all, that's stupid. It is a little strange though how she shoved her away, but I think it was just an instant reaction.

WAY more bad takes from the Iowa side on this though... not even close.
I don’t think CC went looking for the fan, but when she was close and realized they were crossing paths, she decided to shove her out of frustration from losing. No way someone spins around, snaps their head back and flails to the ground the way she did without deciding to act that way. If she just ran into the fan without seeing her, she may get knocked down, but not in the dramatic fashion that she did.

She does similar things in most of her games. Overreacting to contact is muscle memory for her. She can't help it as it now comes naturally to her.

I don't drive through a parking lot at full speed even though I could, and even though someone or someone is not supposed to be "there." Sometimes they are and have ran out or pulled out in front of me. Even when that should not happen, it is still on me to make prudent decisions. CC did not make a prudent decision when she ran full speed off of the court. End of story. That is a fact.

Right or wrong, no matter how you spread the blame, the situation remains the same. With a bad decision you can expect bad results.
