***Official 2024 Weather Thread***

5 AM seems reasonable for those that have to work early. They put headlights on those things for a reason. Clear the driveway, come back in and get showered, be ready for your day by 6:30 to 7:00. Not everyone starts their day at 8:00.

If you're going to the office, sure. If you/your wife/your kids are all staying home, absolutely a **** move to do that at 5 am. He's a VP at Wells Fargo, takes plenty of breaks throughout the day, could have done it at any time.

What’s the real issue here? That he moved snow early or that you didn’t?

2-4” around Algona. Spring is right around the corner, so it can stay right where it is. Iowa 511 says no tow south of HWY 30.
Drive carefully.
Go Cyclones

Exactly. I'm out at 5, usually back in around 6 and then have to get ready for my normal day to head to work.

Yep, I’m usually at work by 6:15 and I have to clear the driveway so my wife can get out. I don’t like making noise that early, but not a lot of choice to it

Why on earth would you do a pre-shovel if you have a snow blower?! I have a crappy single stage and it does fine up to 8-10", can't imagine why anyone would pre-shovel when you have one - at 3am no less!

Meanwhile, my **** of a neighbor fired up his snow blower at 5 am, then proceeded to go back inside/shut the garage/all lights off. Why TF would anyone do that..? Him and his wife WFH and school is cancelled.

You folks know white noise exists right? Sleep with it and you’ll be fine

The VP of Wells Fargo should have an electric snowblower. My buddy just used his for the first time and said it did an amazing job. I think they've come a long way.

A good 5" on the ground in South Waterloo and still coming down pretty well. We're going to push 10" on this one when all said and done.

Certainly didn't bust here

It was a bad start to the day when my wife notifies me that there is a puddle of water under the sink.

Luckily, I was able to repair it. (hose from dishwasher to garbage disposal came off.
