Raising Canes Sucks

God I miss these

Pretty sure they still have those.

What they don't have, and what I miss, is the original chicken littles from the 80s\90s.

Someone needs to put up a sign outside the raising canes in Johnston. It's been packed every time I've driven by for the last few months.

They all are always packed. The one in Waukee the drive through is usually around the building at least twice.
The new one in Johnston has a double lane order and pickup and is always packed.

If they are terrible, a lot of people must like terrible, because they are killin it and appear to be growing extremely fast around the country.

I find RC to be ok. We have a regional chain called Chicken Express that I think is better than RC; CE has really good spicy tenders without the rubber effect. Then there is a DFW chain (I think they have 4 stores) called Luci's Chicken and Rice that has really good chicken strips as well.

There are a load of "chicken" fast food chains in DFW...RC, CE, El Pollo Loco, Golden Chic, Williams Chicken, Dave's Hot Chicken, Chick-fIl-A, Zaxby's, Chicken Pulita, Pollo Regio, Luci's, Popeyes, Wingstop...probably forgot some. There are also a number of mom-and-pop places that do exclusively chicken. I'm not sure how they can all survive.

I used to be a big fan of the Crazy Chicken.

The football team sold a discount card that included a free burrito every visit. I tried my best to eat my weight in free burritos

The Loc is relatively new around here...maybe last 5 years. I think they do a good job...I like the flame-grilled chicken concept.

Anyone tried Dave’s Hot Chicken? Their hot chicken sliders are pretty solid. Can be very spicy depending on which level you order

One opened here about a year ago. I like their chicken, but given the other choices around, it's a bit pricey. They do offer a number of spice levels, so you can easily tune it to your tolerance.
