49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

Maybe it's what you meant, and my reading compression is crap, but I think it was the opposite that CMC was quickly taught the playbook with help from Brock before CMC's first game. Probably a big reason why CMC was so helpful last year as they've already built that rapport.
Oh heck MY bad .... yes. Wow, back to your regularly scheduled program.

I'll assume your comprehension is ok and I'll give the bolded a pass do to autocomplete on a phone and spell check. ;)

2 Strong Cases for MVP on one team is Crazy!

Purdy is just being humble as he is. But this is being used against him already on the Hot Takes shows like 1st Take. They are trying to find ways not to give it to him. So you need to be careful talking like this. Purdy is more deserving of this award. He should get it and the media should not cheat him out of it.

It's gonna be like that regardless. Last week, it was Dak. This week, it's Lamar. If the 49ers beat them, it'll be Josh Allen if he continues to win. If Josh loses, then it will be about CMC right up to the vote. I'm sure it's just going to come with the territory.

Lamar is not having the year Purdy is by a long shot. The Bills are struggling to barely make the playoffs and Josh Allen can be a turnover machine sometimes. I don't think a RB or CMC will get it. It's all just excuses. Purdy should win. No doubt about it.

We know Brock. And I genuinely believe he cares very, very little about that award. And therefore meant exactly what he said.

I think the dumb media that don’t understand football really want to get Allen into the race, but the Bills boat racing the Cowboys when Allen completes 7 passes for 90 yards hurts his chances.

Collinsworth near the end of last nights game essentially said Lamar should win MVP because he’s a better athlete and is doing more with less than Purdy (although the stats say otherwise). But I think he was just playing to his audience with his comments

Yeah, this morning there have been a number of former Dak evangelists that are saying Lamar is the guy. If they aren't going with him, they're going with CMC. It will be interesting to see what the voters do.

Statistically, Brock will have a better season than probably 80% of the QB MVP seasons of the past 10 years.

Numbers wise he's not having near the year of Brock Purdy. It's not close. Look at just TD's. All the other categories too. Lamar isn't having that big of a year.

San Fransisco is insanely expensive. Even for people making just under or over a million.
Yes, it is one of the most expensive metros in the country but using a cost of living calculator to compare it to Des Moines Purdy's $870k base would be about $440k in Des Moines. If you can't live on $400k in Des Moines as a single adult with no dependents you are doing it wrong.

This should end the discussion that is derailing this thread so I won't comment on it again.

The national media needs to be contradictory to get views/clicks/be an "interesting" show. I bet off the air, they all agree that Brock is the runaway MVP, but that doesn't make for entertaining TV, and with Baltimore going to San Fran next week, it's a perfect time to push the Lamar for MVP agenda

I finally saw the highlights of the game. There's at least 4 "MVP" type plays in there that are just sick.

1) short out to Aiyuk (would have been a pick 6 for most QBs if they even dared to try it)
2) improv play to Juice (play he got hurt on)
3) touch pass to Kittle (~ 3:55)
4) pylon throw TD to Samuel

Game manger, pfft. Yeah, that take is near absolute zero.

It really should be Brock. If they beat the Ravens next weekend it will be difficult for them. They will run out of excuses at that point.

He can get his own place with that. You can qualify on mortgages for roughly 3 times your income. So something in the $2.5 million range give or take. He also does a few local commercials from car dealerships and a few other things. So real salary is probably more like $2 - $3 million endorsements included (more coming soon because he is so good). So really he could probably buy a $3 - $5 million property endorsements included in his salary qualification. You can get something in the Bay for that. Not the biggest mansion. But not a tiny house either. He can and will probably buy something soon.

I know Brock is underpaid right now, but that will be made up on the next rewrite. What I would really like to see is him and SF management get on the same page where he gets solid compensation but the team still has enough money to keep a lot of weapons and a Oline to protect him Most QB and there agents get to greedy personally I think that is the biggest problem with Mahomes and the Chiefs this yr.
There's a reason the Patriots had such a great run with Brady
