*** Official Florida A&M vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

This is all true. And he's clearly only the 9th best player on this team right now. I think we as CyFantics are struggling with 2 things:
1. He's a 5 star McDonald's AA. Iowa State doesn't get that caliber player often/ever. I think we are all a little stunned he's as unpolished as he is right now.
2. If he needs the minutes, and he can be a major contributor, NOW is the time when you are clearly 40 points better than competition. 5 minutes a game isn't going to do it. I think this is the biggest rub with fans.
Yep..that's what bummed me out today. That seems to confirm tjn thinks he won't get there this year, and not really have the chance to. If they thought he could get there, alot more than final.5 minutes today.

Not sure that’s the case. It could be he wants to drive the repetition in practice so that the defense becomes second nature. I’m not convinced game time fixes that other than giving some film to work from and of course, game time is different than practice.

You could tell at tip off that Omaha wasn’t going to get many minutes tonight. I’m sure it’s part of some plan. Can we just trust TJ and be happy that Milan is playing like a 5 star recruit?

Watson got 9 min tonight, Biliew 5. I'd like to think both will get around, or atleast that in conference games. We play better and stronger when our 8 and 9 players are getting these minutes.

It may not seem like much but it makes a difference in our guys rotating and staying fresh. I don't think there is a huge drop off in our 8-9 for those amount of minutes. The door is open for the 8-9 to get more minutes also with their play.

Don't forget Hasan will be back soon. That's a potential 10 man rotation. Good depth will help us in conference.

Can’t build for depth when you’re building for cohesion and continuity.

I like to think that this team will have good depth to 10 players once Ward comes back. That doesn't mean 8, 9, 10 will always get more than 5 minutes, say.

But on any given night, we have guys who have the ability to step up and give quality minutes if called upon.

We certainly don’t have that now relative to big 12 play.

We'll see. The verdict is still out on Omaha, and how much he might contribute.

Watson was a pretty big contributor last year. Hasan was the starter 4-5 weeks ago. It is not a stretch to think we have a 9-10 deep rotation.

Thought we played pretty bad overall and still won by 38, which is good I guess.

I'm sure TJ and staff know what they're doing here but in future seasons I guess I'd rather see us play some more competitive teams even if it means the non-con record is a little worse.

I think we will when we have more returning players with experience in the system. Since TJ is trying to build a base with high school recruits (something I highly approve of), and opted for transfers with more than one to play, we are somewhat young this year, but more importantly, inexperienced in playing together as a group.

Next year seems like the year to start ramping it up a bit, though with the grinder that is the Big 12, I don't expect him to get crazy with the non-con.

Yeah even just one or two. The type that are good wins but not bad losses.

Maybe earlier in the non conference, but as soon as students are gone, I'm 100% fine with them playing the scrubbiest srubs that ever scrubbed until conference play starts
