Worst Movies Ever

Showgirls was the Citizen Cane of titty movies

I didn’t realize how bad it was until VH-1 showed it with these awful black "bras" on the ladies. Bad movie and bad work trying to make it PG

Making it PG is pointless. WTF. I would not even watch it. It would be like watch Porn with a PG 13 rating. No point

It turns my stomach how bad the films are on the list of the most expensive films of all-time...

Looking at that list, the only one on it that I have seen and enjoyed and want to see again or would have any interest in seeing in the first place would be Tangled and that's probably it.

There's probably going to be some MCU people protesting about The Avengers films up there being good (sure sure if you like that stuff, but the original The Avengers and Infinity War were much better than Ultron and Endgame) and Guardians 1 and Guardians 2 were way better than Guardians 3).

The rest are just... barf. How do you spend so much on so many awful films?

Because in a world of limitless content people have voted with their feet and expensive special effects is one of only two things that will draw viewers into the theatres any more. The other is a hard nostalgia play.

Perhaps true. But a lot of those films are notorious flops. Especially the more recent ones.

I have posted about this before, but I certainly would not consider these the worst movies, but certainly movies that as someone that is not a movie nerd, and doesn't care about the mechanics of film-making, I really don't get the fascination with Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs. Deep down I think these are movies that way more people say they like than actually enjoy them. I think being of HS and college age in the 90s these were just movies you were supposed to think were genius. If you thought some characters' acting was terrible, that because QT meant for it to be that way, and here's some inside-baseball nerd explanation why.

Worst movies I've seen in the theatre:

- Freddie Got Fingered: Not sure what's more embarrassing, the movie or the fact I paid to see it.
- The American: A movie about absolutely nothing.
- True Lies: Only saving grace is it has Bill Paxton in it. The best wanker portrayer of all-time (True Lies character, Chet in Weird Science, Hudson in Aliens).
- Suburban Commando: My buddy dragged me to this and it was terrible. I think he also dragged me to another non-sensical Hogan movie around the same time. Thankfully I can't remember that one.
- Old School: I love Animal House. I love Revenge of the Nerds. Back to School is one of my favorite comedy movies ever (RIP Rodney). This was a feeble attempt to rip off all three movies. Having Will Ferrell in it made it even worse.

You don't like Old School? Something changed in you from the time you watched Back to School to the time you watched Old School.

Freddie Got Fingered is terrible if you expected a conventional gross-out comedy in the vein of such 90s classics as There's Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber, and Ace Ventura.

But if you watch it on a meta level... it's a Dadaist masterpiece.
