All-Time Fave One-Hit-Wonder

I Melt With You by Modern English. The song that asks the musical question. Can you be a one hit wonder when your one hit wasn't technically a chart hit? It peaked at #78 on the Billboard Hot 100.

One of those, I know exactly where I was when I heard this song for the first time. It was a beautiful Spring early summer Saturday in Seoul, and I was looking for cassette tapes in one of the independent alley way markets, and this song was playing. I just stopped and listened and was like: ILOVE that song!

They didn't have too many but they were good and not really just one hit. Obviously best known for One Toke. But I listened to them a lot.
One Toke their only top 40 hit. Jerry Garcia on steel guitar.

Yep, that song won a Grammy too. For Best Rock Song.
They had multiple albums go multiplatinum.

I'll toss in "Stuck in the Middle with You" by Bob Dylan Stealers Wheel

In 1974 they hit #29 with a song called Star.

Another: Tracey Ullman's They Don't Know. The single went to #8 on the Hot 100 in 1983. The follow up charted at #70 (Breakaway), but she never reached the U.S. charts again.

Her only top 40 hit. First recorded by an English singer Kirsty McColl. McColl sang backround vocals on Ullman's recording.
