We Will Collective contributor numbers

Jim Mora, UCONN coach, gave a bit of a peak behind the curtain.

I imagine we are better than that but I’m guessing not substantially better. I believe @brentblum said on the last podcast that Georgia and the top dogs are around $15 mil. Where is Iowa State? I’d guess we don’t want to disclose exactly but would be nice to understand generally where we are and where we are realistically trying to go.

My best guess is we are bottom of the Big12 in NIL funds.

From my understanding, last year we operated around $2 million. We are trying to double or triple our efforts to stay on par with our peers (Texas Tech, Oklahoma St, KState, etc.) in the $4-$6 million range. Those schools and examples may not be exact but you get the point.

It would also be nice to get to our goal of at least 2,000 monthly donors. That should be attainable. Last I knew, we were at around 1,200 monthly donors. No better time to join than in the next 12 days!

Well this major fundraising campaign is basically enough to pay for the nil of the player who will not be named who went to Texas, and have a little left over. If the rumors about his salary are to be believed (am. So that's pretty depressing.

That said we aren't competing against Texas in nil so we shouldn't be discouraged about that. Plus we turned out ok I think... It's not all about nil but it helps retain the good players we have now.

I've said this before, but I personally believe this offseason will be the first huge test of where out NIL situation stands. I see a lot of young talent on our football team that will/is be targeted by other programs. How much success they have in doing so will tell me a lot about if we're now just a feeder program for the big guys, or if we can fend them of at a reasonable rate.

That monthly donor number is pitiful. That means only like 2.5% of football season ticket holders are donating to the collective. Come on people we can do better than that!

Agree. Think either the fanbase steps up and we reap the benefits next year and see how good this can be; or we get burnt, and people realize a year late that this is important

It's a higher percentage than that. You have to remember that most donors will purchase multiple tickets for them/friends/family/clients. Without any inside knowledge I'd guess there's an average of 4 tickets per donor being used, so that brings it down to 12,000 donors (I think I recall reading we sold 48,000 season tickets this season?), so that means about one sixth of the Cyclone Club donors are also We Will donors. Still not good, but we're capturing more of the donating fan base than most realize, I think. That said, still pretty sad numbers.

If we get burnt I worry a lot about it just turning off many of the lower level donors. Rather than motivating more folks to pitch in, I think it would cause a lot of people to ask "why am I paying $___ per month just for us to lose all our players anyways?" and sort of throw in the towel. Folks only have so much in their entertainment budget and most will want to see some sort of return on their investment.

Now if it leads to us building basketball rosters like our current one on a regular basis AND we can retain our returning football players? I'm salivating at that. Keep football players and shop (economically) for basketball players seems to be the best formula for ISU.

Hey friends got a message (not going to out the poster) about some deleted posts.
We just tried to clean this up this AM and get the train back on the track. Nothing personal about the majority of those posts.

Just wanted to thank you all for your consideration. Yes, current recurring donations are also added into the matching challenge, so current donors are absolutely included. Although we'd be okay with an additional donation :)

About 20-25% of those season tickets are students (I thought we had 10k in students) so they really need to be taken off also. Not sure if any are Junior cyclone club.
