I just don't like that the longest continually played rivalry in ALL college football is going to end.
While K-State is not as heated a rival as iowa, it's still been played 106 straight seasons - through WWII and Covid. I would have thought it would make media/publicity sense for the league to want to push that. Especially if both teams are really good in the next few seasons. Put that game on Thanksgiving weekend and sell the crap out of it. Instead, both K-State and ISU get UCF in 2027 - that no one outside Ames, Manhattan, and a small part or Orlando will remotely care about.
That's why it doesn't make sense to me. The new Big 12 should be doing anything they can to promote rivalries and stories. ISU-KSU playing 106 straight times is one of those stories.
