Future Big 12 FB Opponents/Schedule Announced

My first instinct is that everyone should have one rival, but the reality is a some are going to have 2 (ie, K-State with KU + ISU) while others might not have one that really makes any sense at all. It sucks

I'm happy with getting a home & home with everyone at least every 4 years and they didn't go with pods another strategy that means some schools don't see each other very often at all.

I tend to be the opposite. I don't care as much about seeing other schools as often. College sports is built upon those longstanding rivalries that we want to see every year and those deserve protection even if it means you don't see some other matchups as often.

I tend to agree with your view. Every player in the Big 12 will have the opportunity to play in every Big 12 stadium if they play at the same school 4+ years. Some other conferences can't say they do that. I just wish we played Farmageddon each year.

I'm not gonna lie, next year's schedule looks very promising for a run at getting to the B12 championship. We should be favored to win all 5 homes games and very close spreads for Houston, WV, and Kansas away games.

Right?!?! Things can change—everyone thought WV would suck this year and they don’t really. But this sets up nicely for next year.

I miss playing everyone but more teams means chances are there will be more bad teams.

I really like the model they went with. Seeing everybody as often as possible was the way to go.
The challenge with mega conferences is playing everyone enough to feel like it's an actual conference. This looks like what the Big 12 attempted to do. There was going to be change no matter what, some good, some bad. I'm ok with how they did things though.

3 - KSU (2/1)
3 - Cincy (2/1)
3 - UCF (2/1)

3 - OSU (1/2)
3 - WVU (1/2)
3 - Kansas (1/2)

2 - Baylor (1/1)
2 - Arizona (1/1)
2 - Tech (1/1)
2 - ASU (1/1)
2 - Utah (1/1)
2 - BYU (1/1)
2 - Houston (1/1)
2 - TCU (1/1)
2 - Colorado (1/1)
That sums it up well. Looks pretty good to me. I like playing every team 2+ times in 4 years.

I suppose they can change things up a bit in 2028 if there are problems with balance, etc.

I'm all for playing at every venue once every four years.

But you can easily do that while still protecting rivalries.

Hell, each team could have as many as 3 and still pull that off.

Big whiff by the conference.
