Sure that's fair. And that's kind of what I'm saying is that he doesn't view it as any more important than anything else.
But we know he values growth and the process over everything else, and he in no way considers it a failure of any particulae significance as long as growth is achieved and significant development is achieved later on.
Would he prefer to go undefeated? Sure, who wouldn't...
If Campbell has his same record against iowa and has like a 25-30 percent winning percentage in conference this is obviously a different conversation.
Likewise going 7-1 against iowa with a bunch of really bad finishes wouldn't change a whole lot for him internally. We can debate if that would be enough to keep the fans satisfied (which iowa fans would love it if we thought the answer was yes)
The point really was iowa is not special and they get exposed all the time when they step out of their safe little big ten west play pen and it's sad to see it go away. Which is why they respond insecurely the way they do. Don't take the bait. It doesn't bother me, I enjoy how fragile they are.
