It was 14-17 and we got the ball down inside the 10 and then ran 3 straight times and settled for a short FG to tie…..however we missed the FG.

Go win the game!

That FG would have won it and the miss sent it to OT.

ISU then dropped a TD in OT at some point.

The game was tied 14-14 and we returned a fumble to Mizzou’s 15. I was ok with three runs there cause all we needed was a FG to win. We just missed a 34 yarder. That one wasn’t on Mac

Those games were infuriating and only 30k fans in the stadium. We need to fight to never return to those lows as a fanbase!

I've heard a story a few times that the Big 12 was almost the "Big 14" with BYU added for the North and either New Mexico (and yeah, not sure what the idea was there...) or TCU added for the South.

Idk about the New Mexico part but BYU was for sure blocked by a coalition essentially bribed or strong armed by Texas at least once in 2011/2012.

Those games were infuriating and only 30k fans in the stadium. We need to fight to never return to those lows as a fanbase!

Worse is when I was a freshman in 2008 only maybe 2 of our games were on any form of TV at all.

Kansas is 6-2 and just beat Oklahoma
Colorado has Coach Prime and has the worst record at 4-4
Missouri may have one of their best teams ever and is 7-1
Nebraska is turning things around and are tied at the top in the Big 10 West

Nebraska "turning things around" is a bit much. They probably are the softest 5 and 3 team in college football, owing that to a weak ass non-con and conference schedule. Like us, they are benefitting by playing some God awful teams in their league. The Big 12 is bad this year but the Big 10 West is absolutely brutal.

Look at the rest of Nebbys schedule. It's entirely possible they run the table and end at 9-3. It's mind boggling a team less than medicore could achieve such a record. Thankfully that ends after this season.

Only home game I have ever got my wife to go to. Not sure how since it was cold and windy. I guess I talked her into it since we knew it would be a light crowd and I had an extra ticket. She did go to both Phoenix bowl games though so I can't blame her for the loss.

We lived in KC so it was a no-brainer to go to KU the next year. I've never went to another game in Lawrence.

Never in my life thought I'd say this, but given their conference competition, Go Big Red.

Since they can't all lose my dream scenario is this: Nebbie wins the Big 10 West and gets throttled in Championship game. Iowa wins 8 games and new AD says she didn't sign Brian's contract so it is void. Brian stays and anyone with a pulse transfers out of Iowa program. SWARM collective pays McNamara another huge chunk of money and he continues to complete 50% of passes.

Just like after the start, this all needs to be kept in perspective. What angered me the most was the play-calling and reversal of the aggressive mindset Heacock seemed to talked about before the season (and what we saw against UNI). Seeing a pathetic Oline year after year had also taken its toll.

The reality is we have made some strides but also beat some really bad teams. Cinci, TCU, and Baylor are terrible this year, especially in the QB department. We seemingly caught OSU at a good time as they have looked worlds better since we played them. To date, that's the only decent team we've beat. It's not like we look like world beaters or anything these last few weeks.

Probably the most disappointing aspect for me has been the defense. The secondary has played as advertised but our front 6 is BAD, particularly our backers. We've been extremely lucky in facing a collection of terrible QBs to start the year as we have yielded a lot of tike AND open space (backers) in the middle of the field. Time and time again QBs have missed wide open guys. Thankfully our secondary has stepped up and produced a bevy of picks, something the defense has lacked the last few years.

Heacock will need to be more aggressive as we (finally) have to play the better offenses in the league. OU destroyed us by exploiting the very holes/flaws I mentioned and will be shocked if 1-2 teams don't do the same over these last 4 games.

Like everyone I've been ecstatic with the STs play, the big "win" of the season. I love Roccos poise and moxy but hope he starts hitting on some of those big homerun misses, which has easily been the most disappointing aspect of his season. The OL finally showed some continuity in its play, which is hopefully a sign of continued improvement. The emergence of Higgins and Brahmer are also positive.

Basically the early season underperformance as well as the "improvement" since have been exaggerated. At the end of the day this season was mostly about figuring things out for next year. On that front I'd say the developments have been mostly positive. The biggest disappointment is easily the LB position as that group is God awful and the root of most of our defensive problems. It's probably a bottom 3-5% group in FBS, let alone P5 football. A vast departure from 2 to 3 years ago.

If Michigan State hasn't completely mailed it in this year, Nebraska could also lose all of the rest of their games. I expect that the Nebraska v Iowa game at the end of the season will end up with a score of 3-2.

For sure. But they get Iowa and Maryland at home, play the easiest team (the disheveled MSU ) on the road (most winnable game as a road game of the remaining 4), then play a winnable (but equally losable) game on the road against Whisky.

They could easily go anywhere between 1-3 and 4-0, with the only result I feel confident in is beating MSU on the road.

IIRC, we went for it on 4th down and an extremely obvious and blatant PI was committed by missouri in the end zone, and nothing was called. Mizzou picked off the pass and won the game

We had a freshman, walk on kicker and the conditions were terrible. Mac also never seemed to bother to recruit scholarship kickers, so I’d say it was on him.
