Tampa had to be placed somewhere, I guess -- in that period NFC West already had Atlanta and New Orleans (expansion teams from late '60s) -- and wasn't going to shift "established" teams like Dallas/St. Louis/Houston to the west.

The divisional alignment in the NFL before 2002 was simply wacky.
Anyways, regarding Seattle and Tampa Bay --
The two played special schedules their first two seasons in the league. The idea was they'd play the other 13 teams in one conference and each other their first year (in this case, Tampa Bay in the AFC and Seattle in the NFC) and then "switch" into their permanent homes the next season but still play the same special schedule (to cover the other conference) so they could play every team in the league their first two seasons.
After that, their special schedules went away and then became part of normal division scheduling.
If anybody was curious how the team is doing in its various looks...

I agree on the w/c/c combo. I like that one too. I will amend my KU pick: W/C/C with the Ames helmet! The only thing better than that is that we win the game! Of course. [If I'm not mistaken, wasn't one of the 2 times we wore the w/c/c combo, it was against Kansas?]
I believe they were 0-14, then lost the 1st 14 the following year before winning their final 2 the 1st year of the 16 game schedule. I remember because my Packers were one of their 2 wins year 2.

Yes, thank you. And all the more reason to go w/c/c. We haven't done it for a while, the last time was a win, we beat KU with them, and coach is said to be a bit stitious. Haha.
