Fans In the Stands and in the Tailgating Lots

As we were leaving the G4 lot, two college age guys on a moped tried to weave through traffic on S16th towards University. A cop chased them down, jumped onto the guy on the back, and spun them to a stop into the back of a vehicle. Wild scene.

The people that have to yell "go Hawks" all the time, are either very insecure about their team or just an obnoxious Ahole.... probably both.

As much as I hate the arrogant KU fans in KC, they are 100 times better than Hok fans.

Along with a two word vocabulary and having a small manhood they figuring yelling makes them tough.

Does not surprise me that you are one of those fans. Kudos to those ISU fans for putting up with your crap and still being civil.

Just because it has worked out for you at times does not mean it still isn't a **** thing to do.
It is said in a light joking manner. Not yelled in someone's face, which I guess is how "most" Iowa fans do it.

The ISU fans that have given me crap about my hat have all been nice people and usually leads to a brief chat. But I guess them giving me crap is an a****** thing to do? Glad that I have thick skin and having grown up with older brothers can distinguish between someone being an a******and someone just giving you crap.

Hilarious that you find this to grandstand about but have nothing on the countless stories about your fellow fans being complete asshats.

Walking out after the game, my wife was shoved in the back from behind by an hogeye fan (mid-20's female) that yelled to her, "atta girl for cheering for the cyclones."

I have taken the high road for way too long. I now can only hope our ******* fans increase by 10X to compete. I just don't think we have the white-trash inbreeding like they do. I am afraid we will never catch up. We are 50 years behind.

Apologies in advance to those cyclones fans that I offend with this attitude. Hogeye fans on this thread - no apologies. We need to fight trash with trash.

So he’s been in Texas for awhile now but likes to say that Hawkeye fans doing douchey things is creative. He does one of the most douchey things when he encounters ISU fans, now we understand him.

Most do yell it and scamper away like it was some clever shot. The cyclone fans that openly give you crap right away, they are douchers. I do know it happens some, my wife does it. She was raised a hawkeye and still has some of that in her. I tell her not to because it’s uncool but she makes a comment that it’s just normal things. I disagree with her that talking crap right away is normal.

So I do wonder, do you ask the crap talkers if they were always cyclones? Or maybe they were like my wife?

Old lady (not a former hawk, thank god) wanted to take one of my beat Iowa shirts to wear to work last Friday. I immediately said "do not do that". She thought I was being protective of my clothes (which is a fair assumption, particularly with my cyclone gear) but I explained to her that it's not about that. It's about not being like those ass hole hawk fans who constantly talk sh*t and we don't act like them. You keep your mouth shut and then if we win you just smile at them, it drives them ******* nuts when you do that.

It’s those teaching moments that really help. Show them we are civil and explain what douchery will happen when certain events happen. When it all unfolds like we say, that person has like an epiphany and looks at the whole thing differently.

We're they riding like they were escaping or was this a PD move to keep them safe while causing an accident?

All fan bases have asshats. Are there more during game week, probably.

Glad that you now understand me. This world is overflowing with snowflakes.

Most either grew up around Ames or went to school at ISU. It's more about being Iowans and striking up a conversation. I don't take it as insult and get immediately defensive.

You said you don’t run away after yelling it (I’m assuming yelling and not just saying since most yell it), that is a rare thing.

Most act like the drunk girls on the commercials for girls gone wild. Yelling, jumping a little and waving. Then they run away.

Were there ushers? Used to be an usher at the top of each stairway, of the lower level at least.
No, had a hawk fan( Kittle shirt) and girl friend stood at the L entrance all first half. 2nd half a few ISU fans stood there, if you get my drift.
